Nearly 30 years after the Battle of Tippecanoe, George Winter came to Indiana to meet and sketch the Potawatomis and Miamis at another critical turning point in Indiana and Native American history. Winter recognized the historical significance of the events preceding the removal of the Native Americans from their ancestral homes. TCHA will share some of his portraits from those drawing sessions as well as his sketches of the battlefield (the earliest known drawings of these sites!). While the George Winter exhibit will debut on November 13th, you can visit this exhibit any time during museum hours, through late spring.
This exhibit is included with museum admission.
